Underground in Gor: Stuck in The Kajira SkyMall
by The Wanderer
My avatar was about as ready as I planned to make him. I’d joined several Gorean groups to listen in on announcements and get a feeling for their RP.
Then I went to the first Gorean Sim that looked more or less “by the book” and also had enough green dots present to make the journey worthwhile. And there I found... shopping.
At each of five sims I tried to enter, I arrived on a platform high above the in-character action. Goreans make the largest roleplaying group in SL if Hamlet Au is to be believed -- and I was stuck in a stupid MALL.
Then, I saw them - a guy with three kneeling babes who had, between them, not enough clothing to make a decent bandanna.
The Wanderer: good evening sir
Kajira 1: rolls her eyes at the preening male
The Wanderer: I see the girls know their manners
Kajira 2: giggles and coughs at the same time. *Couha!*
Gorean Master: greetings sir
Gorean Master: laughs
The Wanderer: I come from a far land.
Kajira 2: smiles warmly... Greetings Master.
The Wanderer: and have a certain difficulty
Gorean Master : oh? And what would that be sir?
The Wanderer: where ever I go I seem to find myself in a marketplace
Gorean Master: chuckles
Gorean Master: the merchants guild is indeed powerful and far flung
The Wanderer: aye
Kajira 3: (( if there's one thing I hate about Vista...it's that it is total crapspackle.))
Kajira 2: claps at the Master's wit.
Kajira 1: slides past the Masters, motioning for her sisters to follow
The Wanderer: are the girls all yours?
Gorean Master: oh no
Kajira 3: Greetings master
Kajira 2: sighs and slips past.
Gorean Master: I was just chatting with them
Gorean Master: their sister Kajira 5 is known to me
The Wanderer: ah I see
Kajira 4: ((except you dont KNOW that))
The Wanderer: well, I'll continue my journey...in hopes of finding a way into the city proper
Gorean Master: ((laughs well technically this an OOC area, so I can know whatever I want))
The Wanderer: bows low to you, sir
Gorean Master: good day sir
Kajira 2: waves... Well wishes Masters.
Gorean Master: safe paths to you
Kajira 4: ((lol...PFFFFT))
Kajira 4: ((sorry sometimes I forget im not always ic))
I liked Kajira 4, but then I prefer smart-asses for banter. I didn’t want to enslave her, but even if she WERE a guy, she’d be the one I’d buy a beer.
Exasperated with the mall yet pleased that I’d at least communicated with someone, I bought a set of cool-looking blades and logged off. On my next attempt, no Goreans were around but there were two guys with translators, one of them hauling around a pony-girl on a leash. Ah, more familiar depravity of a modern sort.
They were buying some decidedly non-Gorean clothes and accessories.
The Wanderer: nice to meet you men, and the girl
BDSM Boy: who wants to open a club bdsm
The Wanderer: the girl wants to be a Kajira here?
BDSM Boy: it is only my wife
BDSM Boy: but ... want to open a club….a temple bdsm
BDSM Boy: I understand and wish you luck
BDSM Boy: want to help this?
The Wanderer: well, I am a warrior of Gor, not a club-goer
Damn, I’d not even buried a blade into someone and I was already acting uppity. Must be the water.
I suppose having a flying mall pays tier for the sim-owners while keeping the riff-raff from ruining the RP far below. It was also irritating as hell, because I wanted to PLUNGE in, like getting off a plane in a country where you don’t speak the language. Once through customs, you are THERE.
Plunge in…that was it. I climbed up to the roof of the mall…and jumped off into Gor.
[...to be continued...]

So your first foray into Gorean roleplay was in an area where gorean roleplay doesn't happen?
I would think the first thing you would learn is that everything happens on the ground, after you pass all the meters and laws before you get to actual RP.

Wow so they pay for their sims with market space rentals. The bastards! How dare they! I thought they paid for their tier by virtual prostitution like the rest of the adult clubs do. How completely abnormal and rude of them to rent market space. Proof they are just sickos. (insert more over the top sarcasm here)
So far, I fail to be impressed by your in depth coverage.

Wonders how GOR will survive after Linden Lab moves all XXX Roleplayers to the ghetto and prevents men who have not yet age verified from playing the Female slaves

Nothing gives you the feel for a roll play group than the out of character area.
Gor does present a dilemma; while we can be sure the Kajri are all guys in RL how do we know the Goreanmaster isn't a RL woman? Gender bending goes both ways. Something to keep in mind the next time your Kajria alt is getting her master's oversize unit slammed into her bottom.

And how does anyone know that all the kajirae are men in rl again?

Gorean simms are odd places indeed. I find it disgusting myself. But after all, this world is only virtual. And who am I to judge. I stay away from Gor, and they stay away from me. Nothing wrong with that.

They're the ones with tiny willies
and a male voice when you use the $2 microphone.
It's that easy!
