Combat diminishing between armies, New Jessie on the brink
Militaries must work together to save combat in the metaverse

by Vegna Fouroux

Jessie
New Jessie in grave danger

It was the best of times and the worst of times. The two major alliances of SL (The Ascendant Iniative and The Iron Symphony) had put aside their turbulent pasts and had begun a new age. An age where combat was king, an age where scandals and gossip were frowned upon, where the ban hammer was the final solution and not the first, an age where a sense of honour prevailed. Alas, the trust is not so simple, so let us look past the lofty ideals and examine what is really going on.

The military which I believe to be the finest (partly due to me being a member): The Merczateers has 400 + members. That’s more than the Ascendant Iniative groups COMBINED. Hence any combat on a large scale can’t be undertaken often as these groups only have a fraction of men in relation to the numbers of our invading force at any given time, thus combat is taken on very rarely and large scale, pitched battles on the scale of those fondly remembered epics; Operation Crucifix and Operation: Wrath of Toll have not been seen in quite some time. Ordo Imperialis and even The Militant Collective (both I.S members) have similar issues.

“AHA!” I hear you readers cry “I also have some knowledge of military matters! My dear Vegna. What of the Sovereign Regime, what of The Fuhrer and his Vanguard, of the Chtonic Syndicate, newly arisen and ready for the fight, THERE! there Mr. Fouroux is your advesary!.” The Iron Symphony with of course, all due consideration has seen fit to put a combat blockade on The Sovereign Regime thus leaving VG and CS’ only enemies The A.I who, as I have just pointed out are often too small in number to counter invasions leaving the S.R in the same predictiment as The I.S. Which really makes you wonder about the validity of these “Alliances” but more on that later.

Cheating and Blockades

The reason for the Iron Symphony’s blockade? Cheating! those dirty Sovereign Regime evildoers have been cheating..Well…That’s an outrage! All self-respecting militaries must have nothing to do with cheaters. Again this theory looks dubious upon closer scrutiny.

What have the Sovereign Regime done that qualifies as cheating? They follow STABLE and The Alliance Navy (who first drafted STABLED, albeit by a member who is now in the I.S) seems quite content with this. Ask any I.S Leader about this blockade and the reasons will be vague..”Cheating, unfairness….Meaness, we’ve tried our best..uh.” The fact is, the old grudges are simply still there. The Sovereign Regime have scripters and builders who are among the oldest in the community, they know the game, the rules, they just don’t have the greatest of character..To them this is the internet and the internet hast lulz, Accumulate thy lulz while thy is able. This infuriates some leaders, to whom this is a game not to be taken lightly, as such, the ban button looms temptingly.

But cheating exists in the Second Life Military community..oh yes my readers it does. There’s one military, proud of it’s history, steeped in tradition and stalwart in the face of common sense; The Ordo Imperialis.

goto teleports considered harmful

Before I continue, make no mistake, this is no Ordo smear story, this is just highlighting a hypocrisy of the highest order. The Ordo must have the most boring time of all, you cant even fight the Alliance Navy, Sparta and other militaries when the opportunity DOES arise. Why? The major A.I groups have put a blockade on the Ordo for not following STABLE. And I have to say they are probably right to do so. Ordo use goto teleporters (i.e I want to teleport my avatar to the enemy position I simply type “goto: Enemy name”) which this reporter has seen with his own eyes right in the middle of combat (OH but they’ll claim it’s strictly non combat only).

Admittedly they have their merits; good discipline and other pros you can see in another article on this hallowed site. They use fairlight and titan industry weapons in day to day combat (both known for their deep unfairness and Titan Industries even incorporates TOS breaking features such as spy bullets). Yet, readers I digress, these are small matters, but surely if these blockades were put aside combat would take place full throttle, myself and others wouldn’t have to suffer the dreaded occasional one-man noob army assault as our daily combat. Again, it’s up to a prestigious few grudge bearers not willing to let bygones be bygones.

The new void sim prices are the other cause of the looming annihilation of the militia community.

New Jessie sim is now an established combat region where all groups and freelancers can come and fight – but New Jessie is on the verge of collapse due to financial problems and they certainly won’t be able to pay for it with the new 66% void sim price increase.

Nor will other militaries who work off Void Sims for that matter like Vengement or The Echelon Union or 2142 or The Militant Collective. Unless you’ve got a lot of cash in your back pocket that is. Running a military just became a hell of a lot more expensive

No, only a few militaries like the Merczateers, Vanguard Armed Forces and the Ordo Imperialis could afford to pay for those kinds of costs…and they aren’t even fighting each other! (or on void sims for that matter). have you grasped the point? The only militaries that will be left alive, will be the ones that aren’t fighting each other.

The Solution? Cut your ridiculous blockades, get out into the main sphere, raise awareness about these astronomical new prices. This is your community. It’s time YOU gave back.

    Salone Dearie?

Kindly get your head out of your ass, hmm?

Once again you’ve responded – without permission, without the right to either – with the exact same tired, bullshit lines of each and every teenage gamer that exists on the internet. No wonder you don’t have the very balls you seem to think others lack Dearie: You apparently cannot form a proper response without resorting to the same tired shit.

Where in my response does it say anything about me ever engaging in the pitiful, steroid induced, “My dick is bigger than yours” type of “Role Play” that only the least intelligent people enjoy?

Once more Dearie: There are no political bodies in Second Life – none. Nothing there exists as anything but a bunch of zeros and ones the moment you shut down the program: Even when running the program, those nice little visuals are still nothing more than zeros and ones.

Now, here’s the part you don’t seem to understand yet Dearie: This is a web page. Web pages do not currently exist in Second Life in any manner that your little Avatar can use or ‘type’ to. It does not matter how people are ‘reporting’ here – This Web Page is not within the scope of Second Life.

Do you know what that means Dearie?

That means that anyone posting here under their Second Life account name – has no rights at all, especially if they insist on treating their user name as if it belonged to a real person.

So sorry Dearie: Come back and respond when you can ditch the non-entity name.

Until you’d like to cease being a hypocrite … your right to respond does not exist and all further responses will net a generic copy and paste response until you can actually stay true to your own words.

The following is my opinion on the matters and should not be considered direct attacks or “facts”, so you need not flip out about it.

Land price: LL needs to figure out what they will do with all these people who want the “half the sim power” deal. Honestly, you do not need 15k prims for a military base, you need space. LL needs to decide their course and we can adjust.

Blockade: VG, from grunt to leader, has proven to me they aren’t here to cooperate, but only be an annoyance. VG griefed Vadoo Reef less than a month ago with damage off with intent to crash the sim. Several VG Officers I might add. Until those in VG who care about their image step up, Chris will continue to damn his group.

I.S. and A.I. : Compromise. You will both fail to get anywhere until you all sit down at the table and prepare to be flexible. STABLE is indeed outdated. Being able to agree to limit weapons and tactics must be done until a uniform standard is found. This requires all groups, archetype Mercz, secretive Ordo, stubborn AN, headstrong Spartans, to realize they cannot agree to anything if they refuse to give an inch.

The future of a grid-wide arms treaty requires some flexibility on terms and understanding of a better possible condition for combat. “We agree to cease the use of fleetships or conform them to your terms, provided you do the same for aircraft.”

That one is for you, Bruno. You have always been, and always will be invited to sit down and write out common rules for our groups.

    To Reality.

The way you are turning words and explaining what is going on here is a pretty good cop out instead of actually debating anything.

Each person does not have their name etched into their skin at birth, Names date back when originally people did not have last names and decided to come up with their own and was ordered usually by governments. Now.

Names are a factual thing which humans came up with, We didn’t start out with our names they were created over time. So don’t bring up shit about how it is different in a game called Second Life. We chose our names in this different world even if it isn’t the same as the real one.

I personally don’t have to much time in SL for my busy schedule, But fuck no am I going let some annoying bitch preach about annoying topics.

Salone – you non-existent entity: Kindly cease the excuses and cop outs.

You do not exist – the real person behind you does however and quite frankly I don’t give a flying fuck what excuse you come up with: whomever you are, you’ve got two choices here, as I’ll just continue to poke, prod and otherwise rip apart your pathetic attempts to hide: Put up, or shut up. Prove you are not a hypocrite.

Until you’d like to cease being a hypocrite … your right to respond does not exist and all further responses will net a generic copy and paste response until you can actually stay true to your own words.

Your wasting time now and obviously have been beaten like a biatch because now you are going into insulting me and showing you don’t care anymore about this argument. Back off and read over my post again. You wanted some logical reasoning and shet then there you go.

We all started with a fresh slate other then our starting environment. Obviously our ancestors created societies and generations.. The difference is in second life it goes to the boundaries of pretty much what you can do with a game. It gave us the ability to do what we can and pretty much what we want. it started on a fresh slate with no homes or any owned land, just an open world. And over time it led to somehow people creating weapons in game and militaries.

With any militaries there are politics same as in RL and SL.

No matter how many people say second life is controlled my LL, Everyone started out new and so did the SL world.

Dearie? what you call ‘logic’ I call a cop oout and a pitiful excuse.

How many times do I have to explain it to you before it sinks into that thick skull of yours?

You have been called out – Period, end of the discussion.

You have been told to drop the bullshit and live up to your own words considering anonymous names: Your Avatar name is NOT – repeat NOT – an acceptable one to be using if you plan on bitching about others using a pseudonym.

There is not a single thing you can say or do to make this any other way either.

Drop the excuses Dearie: They’re getting very old, very fast.

You have two choices: Put up or shut up. That’s it – end of the story Dearie.

Lol I put a logical pretty damn well worded argument there.. Your obviously not as cool as you for some reason think or you would be able to reply to what I’ve said and show me how talented you are at talking.

You don’t really have a place to say things are getting old since you are in fact repeating yourself.. Each post I’ve made has been on more than one other topics.. This is your second actual cop out on not answering my questions or talking about them.

By the way.. Don’t say I was the one bitching when your the one who came on an SL reporting site to whine about how they dislike the game. Great effort to not be a bitch.

    Dearie?

Once again, I am afraid I have to tell you that you are doing nothing more than proving time and again that you are a hypocrite.

Sorry – your argument concerning this site is null and void. This is a site OUTSIDE of Second Life, a site where the twits making their ‘reports’ cross the border between Second Life and Real Life about as much as a mentally disturbed D&D Role Player who actually believes that he is his level 50 Paladin.

You do not get to bitch about someone using a pseudonym when you yourself are using one: sorry, Salone Runo does not exist in the Real World.

As I have said before: I frankly do not give a fuck what excuse you use – you’re nothing more than a hypocrite until you can prove otherwise.

You have asked me NO questions worth answering – not until you can drop the bullshit act.

I do not answer questions from a non-entity Dearie: You want answers? You can either drop the false name …. or cede that the use of a pseudonym is meaningless.

If you persist – then the rest of this post is all you will ever get in response Dearie.

What you call ‘logic’ I call a cop out and a pitiful excuse.

How many times do I have to explain it to you before it sinks into that thick skull of yours?

    Lol okay.

I like debating but you obviously aren’t able to do it and aren’t very good.

I can’t do it with YOU though because you don’t even accept any questions, If you actually want to have people believe you you’ll have to be smart for once instead of saying the same shit over again.

Look through your posts.. Repeating yourself instead of answering.

Learn some more about this, to me your just another one of those annoying people.

  10. Reality

    Nov 18th, 2008

I warned you already Dearie: Until you drop your bullshit all you’ll get is copy and paste.

go back and read my prior post and do NOT come back to respond until you are actually ready to follow through Dearie: I don’t answer questions posed by non-existent entities who seem to think they have a leg to stand on by bitching about the use of a pseudonym …. while still using their own.

You have been called out – Period, end of the discussion.

You have been told to drop the bullshit and live up to your own words considering anonymous names: Your Avatar name is NOT – repeat NOT – an acceptable one to be using if you plan on bitching about others using a pseudonym.

Return to post when you are capable of doing so without your attitude: There is no ‘debate’, no ‘argument’ – nothing until you do so.

This is REQUIRED for further interaction: Period and end of discussion Dearie.

no Vanguard are pretty much the same group they were 9 months ago Ivy i.e Christoph at the head, generals and officers dicking around constantly, and enlisted that come and go every few days

so giving facts to give a bigger appreciation of the picture is touting a horn? laughable, we have 400, you guys don’t. Claiming that stating this is somehow some kind of veiled bragging is ridiculous and really sad, snide? Unfortunately not, the insecurity factor in Sparta isn’t just you Ivy, the whole *officer* cadre oozes it, then tries to compensate by claiming “we have small numbers but superior tech” unfortunately that’s a lie.

Bruno, it’s okay I guess to correct steve on his spelling, but stooping to levels like that in a debate with a normal person? sad.

LOL, why was I not surprised to come here days later to find that baby king bruno had to have the last word?

Dude, our weekly *enlisted* dinners have more attendees than your whole group put together.

And no, you guys don’t kick out your inactives, nor do other groups, though they do tend to demote them if they are gone for long (lol Jim demoted Trinity from the admiralty cause she went on vacation, and before she left she did exactly what he ordered, which was issuing a declaration, signed by Jim, apologizing to me. Apparently following orders is a court martial offense in the AN.) However those that you do kick wind up coming to us, pretty much always.

Now that Vanguard has disbanded due to epic fail and excessive snowmew tail-hole probing (Are you a stressed snow-kitty?), the VG kiddies are going to go infest AN to help it become even more a group of griefers in uniform. I just have one thing to say to Christoph: the photo of me terraforming the letters BNT into the sand of John Stark sim was my favorite, until I was presented a pic of the wacky wavy flailing arm inflatable VG lawyer man exploding in your face.

Now that the legion of doom has disbanded, some other group is going to have to come to the fore as the bad boys (who knows, maybe christoph will be back when he gets his christmas money in his stocking, though I doubt ma and pa are happy with the snowmew video…). With VG members being directed to join AN, there is the natural candidate. The vulnerability now of AN is that the sim (Elshout) they rent (yes, once again, too poor to buy a sim of their own) is from a close personal friend of Trinity Heckroth, who was driven out of AN and is now very happy in Ordo. If they get back up to their old tricks, they may be faced with homelessness or, gasp, moving back to Dorien and His Demonic Double Dipped-ness.
